Having a child is one of the greatest blessings that come with life, but what it does to your body is not nearly as coveted. Having this equipment in your home will remind you to workout, keep you motivated and will leave you with no excuse not to exercise.

If buying large pieces of exercise equipment is outside your budget, or something you are not interested in, you can instead use workout videos. Often times these types of videos are set to music that will help to keep baby entertained while you workout. Being able to just pop in a video and get your heart rate up is about as convenient as it can get. Be sure to choose videos that have music that you enjoy, as that will keep you interested and moving. Making time to exercise when you have a baby is hard, unless you incorporate your baby into your workout. This will be fun for baby and good for your health. Since your baby weighs at least 10 pounds by the time they can hold their head up, he or she can easily be used as weight. For instance, you can lay on your back and push your baby up into the air and then bring him back down. Your baby will surely love this and you will certainly be getting a workout. Other ways to workout while entertaining baby include taking your baby for a walk, either in harness or in their stroller or bringing baby to a park and pushing him or her on a swing. There are countless ways to exercise while getting quality time in with your new baby.

Since it is hard to find time to exercise while having a newborn, it is important to remember that exercise must not be traditional. You can turn almost any chore that you must do into a workout. For instance, if you need to sweep and mop your floor, you can do it at a faster pace than you usually would. This will get your heart beating faster and help you to burn more calories. If you find it hard to get inspired just turn on your favorite radio station or put in your favorite CD and see how easy it is to turn any chore into a great workout.
