When Exercise Causes More Harm Than Good

from: DietFitnessCenter.com

Exercising is one of the best things that you can do for your body, but there is a right and a wrong way to do it. If you want to get into shape the right way continue reading this article to learn more about what things you should avoid doing while getting fit.

The biggest mistake people make is trying to push their muscles further than they were intended to go. The old saying, "No pain, no gain", is not true. If you experience pain after working out that means that you have caused small tears in your muscles, which will inhibit muscle growth and might delay your fitness plan by causing you to be too sore to work out. You should only use the amount of weight that you can lift with moderate ease. The amount of weight you use is less important that being able to lift it repeatedly when it comes to building muscle. Keep this in mind next time you visit the gym to ensure you have a safe workout.

Many people do not realize that you can over-do it when doing aerobic exercises as well. This is especially true if you are not fully hydrated. Continuing an aerobic exercise for an extended amount of time can actually cause your body to overheat. It is important to know your body's cues as to when it is time to stop. If at any point you feel dizzy or out of breath you need to take a break. If you do not stop you are risking passing out, which can lead to serious injuries. You are also increasing your risk of a heart attack or heat stroke. When it comes to any exercise you must remember that moderation is key.

Taking things to the extreme when it comes to your health is very dangerous. For example, if you are trying to lose weight and build muscle you may be tempted to not eat very much each day. The problem with this is that your body needs more nutrients when you begin an exercise routine instead of less. If you workout on a low calorie diet you are putting yourself at risk of severe exhaustion, and even if you do not suffer that fate you are in the least causing your body to use your muscle mass to supply it with energy, which will work against your goal of building muscle.

Water is the most important thing for your body, especially if you are working out. Your body relies on having enough water to perform at its best. To ensure you are getting enough water you should drink at least 64 ounces of water per day. If you can get more water into your diet daily, that is even better.

Now that you have read this article you know that sometimes less can be more, especially when it comes to exercise. If you put the tips you read in this article to use you will find that your workout routine is easier and more efficient.
