How To Plan A Fitness Routine And Stick To It

from: DietFitnessCenter.com

Being physically fit is a great goal. It can be hard, however, to keep up with a fitness plan with the other things going on in life. Being in good physical shapes makes for a healthier life, where you feel and look better. If you are looking to implement a fitness routine into your life, the information in the following article can be very helpful to you.

One of the first things you need to do when deciding to start a fitness plan is to pick a time that you will be able to exercise each day. Pick a time that you know you will be available and stick to it. Write down the time or times each day when you will exercise, just as you would any other appointment, and make it a priority.

Next, you need to decide what exercises you will do. You need to add both cardiovascular exercises and strength training exercises to your plan. Cardio exercises are exercises that get your heart rate up and keep it up for a while. There are many different exercises that are good for cardio. You can walk, run, dance, play on a sport team, do an exercise DVD, workout on exercises machines or take an aerobic class. Any activity that gets your heart rate going is great for cardio. You should perform cardio exercises most days of the week for at least half an hour each time.

You also need to add strength training exercises. Strength training exercises are those that make your muscles stronger. Just like cardio, there are a lot of different exercises you can do for strength training. You can do body weight exercises such as push ups, sit ups and squats. You can also use equipment to get stronger. There are many choices with this; you can use dumb bells, a yoga ball, a weighted ball, a resistance band or just about anything else that will get you stronger. Exercise machines at the gym are another option. You should perform strength training exercises a few days a week for twenty minutes or more.

Now that you have a plan and you have your times scheduled, it is time to start getting into shape. It is important that you stick to your commitment and make no excuses. Getting into shape is great for you and your body. Do your best to stick to your plan for several weeks and see how good it makes you look and feel.

Once you have worked out for a while, you may start to get bored, and the workout may start to get easy. As soon as this happens, you need to start changing up your routine. You can totally change up what you are doing, or just add more time to your cardio exercises or add more weight or resistance to your strength training exercises. Keeping yourself challenged is great for motivation and to keep you getting stronger and stronger.

If you are ready to get into shape, use the information offered in this article and you will find yourself getting faster and stronger in no time.
