While this may seem like something that would not make much of a difference, it is a good idea to serve all of your meals on smaller plates. If you serve yourself a small portion on a very large plate that will signal to the brain that you are not having enough to eat. Using a smaller plate fools the brain into believing that you are eating more than you actually are.

Before you eat any of your meals you should try to drink one or two glasses of water. This will help you feel full a lot earlier because you will eat much less. As a result you will be taking in less fat and calories. If you are not a big fan of drinking water, you can always add some fresh citrus to it to make it more pleasing to your taste buds.

If you feel yourself getting hungry at random intervals, you should try eating raw fruits and vegetables. These will help you get full and they are full of nutrients and low in fat and calories. There are even some veggies that do not contain any fat or calories at all. Eat as many of these as you want to fill up since you do not have to worry about adding on any more pounds.

One tip that everyone should follow is to take their time when they are eating their meals. When you eat your meals too fast your body does not have enough time to tell the brain that it is being nourished. This means that there is a chance you will still feel hungry after you have already eaten more than enough. Slowing down allows the brain to understand when you have eaten the proper amount.

One thing that has held true in weight loss is that the power of the mind is more powerful than anything. You should put it in your mind to stop all of the bad eating habits that have led you to gain all of the extra weight. Once you make these changes, you should be well on your way to being a weight that is much more healthy.
